POV: You’re on holiday with a photographer. A little behind the scenes from one of those moments that wasn’t planned at all. ❄️

The light changes and suddenly your relaxing afternoon turns into an impromptu photoshoot.
Honestly though, this is exactly how’s some of my favourite images happen. No pressure, no expectations, just seeing the beautiful light and making the most of it.

These two were absolute legends for braving the cold ❄️🤍❄️

How amazingly peaceful and magical is this landscape….

I took a week off last week and as luck would have it, timed it perfectly with the most epic snowfall in Tekapo, I honestly can’t say I’ve seen that much snow in a very long time, then on our last morning we were treated to this hoar frost in Twizel, apparently it’s notoriously hard to predict as it has to be the perfect set of circumstances for it to happen. Temperatures below freezing, air highly saturated with moisture and no wind ❄️

Dreaming of a wedding that feels like you’ve stepped into the Tuscan countryside... without leaving Christchurch? 🍂✨

This beautiful autumn celebration was filled with warm terracotta tones, seasonal blooms, and the kind of golden afternoon light photographers dream about.

One of my favourite parts of the day? The couple chose to do a private first look and vows before the ceremony. It gave them a quiet moment together before the celebrations began, meant we could capture their portraits in the gorgeous autumn colours, and allowed them to spend cocktail hour celebrating with their guests instead of being away for photos.

If you’re planning your wedding, a first look is definitely something worth considering—it can completely change the flow of your day while still giving you those romantic, editorial portraits.
