A Beautiful Summer Wedding at Tai Tapu Hotel
There’s something magical about a summer wedding at Tai Tapu Hotel. Nestled just outside Christchurch, this country venue offers a relaxed atmosphere, beautiful gardens, and a stunning backdrop for couples wanting to celebrate with family and friends in one of Canterbury’s most picturesque settings.
On a warm summer afternoon, Caitlin + Sam tied the knot surrounded by the people they love most before we headed into the hills for one of the most breathtaking portrait sessions I’ve had the pleasure of photographing.

The ceremony was filled with laughter and heartfelt vows. A few happy tears followed as guests celebrated under the summer sun.

We then slipped away for bridal party portraits at the local church before heading up to Wilson Valley Retreat, where Cailtin and Sam decided to exchange private vows in front of spectacular views.

After photos at Wilson Valley we headed back down to the Tai Tapu Hotel, where the reception had been set up al fresco. With the sun setting in the background everyone enjoyed the food, speeches and festivities before heading inside for the party to really start.

As a Christchurch wedding photographer, Tai Tapu is one of my favourite places to photograph weddings. You’re surrounded by beautiful countryside while still being close to the city, and there are so many incredible portrait locations nearby.
