Why a Peony Farm Is the Perfect Location for Your Engagement Session.

A Peony Farm Engagement session at Sunset at Prebbleton Peonies

A Peony Farm Engagement Session. There’s something magical about peony season in Canterbury—and when you pair those soft, ruffled blooms with a glowing sunset, you get pure photography perfection.  Peony Farm Engagement SessionThis engagement shoot at Prebbleton Peonies was one of those sessions where everything just clicked: the colours, the weather, the laughter, and of course, the love between two people who can’t stop smiling at each other.

Prebbleton Peonies is one of those places that feels like it was designed specifically for romantic portraits. Rows of lush peony bushes stretch out in every direction, bursting with pinks, whites, and soft corals. Greer & David wandered through the rows hand-in-hand, completely in their own bubble. Peonies surrounding them creating a beautiful natural frame, giving every photo that soft, dreamy feel.

Just as we moved deeper into the garden, the sun began dipping low. That golden hour light poured over the farm in the most cinematic way—warm, hazy, and absolutely perfect for skin tones. We played with movement—twirls, slow walks through the rows, a few spontaneous cuddles—and the warm breeze picked up at just the right moments to bring everything to life.

Why Peony Season is perfect for Engagement Photos

If you’re dreaming of romantic, nature-filled engagement portraits, peony season is one of the most magical times of the year. The blooms are short-lived, which makes sessions during this time feel extra special. The soft, full petals create a whimsical backdrop, and at sunset, the colours melt together in the loveliest way.
