Taylors Mistake Engagement Shoot, There’s just something magical about Taylors Mistake. Tucked away on the edge of Christchurch, this little beach is the perfect mix of golden sand, rugged rocks, and rolling waves — and it made the dreamiest backdrop for Pip and Grant’s engagement shoot.

We wanted to keep the session completely relaxed and fun, capturing their connection without anything feeling too posed or formal. The afternoon light was soft and golden, with a gentle sea breeze.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was taking the cliff walk that winds its way above the bay. With the ocean stretching endlessly in one direction and the rugged hills in the other, it felt like we had stumbled into our own private coastal escape. The narrow track gave us plenty of opportunities for candid shots — hand-in-hand strolls, cheeky glances over the shoulder, and moments where the couple would just pause to take in the view. That mix of sweeping scenery and intimate connection made for some of my favourite images of the day.
Taylors Mistake really delivered on atmosphere — that mix of natural beauty and a slightly tucked-away feel made it easy for the couple to just be themselves. And those little candid moments — the shared glances, the big smiles, the hands clasped together — are the ones that tell the real story.
